Berkley police requested help identifying two people following a reported attempted break-in at the Vape Hut near Woodward Avenue and Princeton Road on Saturday, Oct. 17.
The Berkley Department of Public Safety said officers responded around 11:30 p.m. to a report of a possible break-in in progress. Both people had left before officers arrived, according to the department’s Facebook post.
Surveillance footage released by police shows one person appearing to strike the shop’s glass door with a gallon-size paint can, WDIV Local 4 reported Oct. 20. The container opened during the attempt, and police said the person’s clothing might have brown paint stains.
Police described that person as male and approximately 14 to 18 years old, wearing navy blue clothing, dark pants with white writing or a logo on the left leg, and white shoes.
The second person was described as approximately 12 to 14 years old and dressed in dark clothing. WDIV reported that this person was not visible in the released footage.
