Other candidates are Democrat Jeremy Moss, Republican Ethan Baker, Green Party candidate Ryan Teasdale and Anil Kumar, who is listed with no party affiliation, according to the Michigan Department of State’s official candidate listing.

On the issues
Affordability and cost of living: Ishac calls for reducing spending and regulation.
“Stop funding fraudulent and wasteful endeavors. I will never vote for increases in taxation, violation of the rights given under the constitution, unbalanced budgets, printing of money or funding of useless projects,” he wrote.
He also supports reducing regulation, which he described as a barrier to small-business success.
Federal spending, taxes and debt: “Stop spending more than they take in. Stop taxation for silly projects … Start reducing federal debt not growing it,” Ishac wrote.
His proposals include eliminating the Department of Education and IRS, sharply reducing the Environmental Protection Agency, combining certain federal agencies, reducing military spending and decreasing money sent overseas.
Immigration: “I support immigration but only when done legally,” Ishac wrote.
“I do not support immigration that requires handouts from taxpayers. You are welcome if you can support yourself or have family here that will support you.”
Health care: Ishac calls for changes to pharmaceutical and insurance company practices and a reduced government role in health care.
“Government should get out of the business of health care,” he wrote. He also supports a safety net: “There should be a safety net for those who really need it.”
Top priority: Asked to identify the single most important issue for Congress, Ishac wrote: “Reduction of fraud and waste. Severe penalties for those who have violated the system and abused the public’s trust.”
