Sisters SuVon and Siana Treece are bringing their 18-year-old art venture to downtown Royal Oak with a permanent gallery at 206 W. Eleven Mile Rd.

The Greater Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Artistic Expressions Gallery at noon Thursday, Oct. 8. A free public grand opening is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11, from 2 to 7 p.m.

The Treece sisters founded Artistic Expressions Gallery in 2008 and spent nearly two decades staging exhibitions, pop-ups, murals and community events before landing a brick-and-mortar home, the Michigan Chronicle reported.

SuVon Treece is a graphic designer, marketing professional and owner of CompuArt Design. Siana Treece, a fashion designer and founder of The Siana Treece Collection, will sell custom clothing alongside original artwork, prints and merchandise at the new space.

"Opening a permanent space feels like the natural next chapter for Artistic Expressions Gallery … having a place of our own gives us the opportunity to bring all of those pieces together under one roof," the sisters told the Michigan Chronicle.

They described the gallery as a place built for everyone, not just experienced art lovers. "You do not have to be an artist or know anything about art to enjoy the space," the sisters said. "Our goal is for people to walk in and feel inspired, comfortable and curious."

Programming will include art classes, workshops, exhibitions, artist talks, private events, content creation sessions and CHAMPAINT, the gallery's guided painting experience. The space will also feature original artwork, prints and select merchandise from Artistic Expressions Gallery alongside pieces from The Siana Treece Collection.

The Oct. 11 grand opening will feature music by DJ Low Simmons, refreshments and shopping, according to an Eventbrite listing for the event. Admission is free.

Thursday's Chamber ribbon cutting runs from noon to 12:30 p.m. at 206 W. Eleven Mile Rd. Attendees are asked to arrive by 11:45 a.m.
