Bloomfield Hills Marian ended Berkley’s volleyball season Wednesday, Nov. 4, sweeping the Bears 3-0 in an MHSAA Division 1 district semifinal at Berkley High School, according to MaxPreps.
Marian was ranked No. 2 in Division 1 in the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association’s Nov. 2 poll. Marian improved to 39-5 on the season and extended its winning streak to six matches, according to MaxPreps.
Berkley finished 18-12-1, according to MaxPreps rankings updated Thursday, Nov. 5.
Marian had a 92-19 set record through Wednesday and had lost to only three opponents all year: Farmington Hills Mercy, Forest Hills Northern and Grand Rapids Christian, according to its MaxPreps schedule.
Marian’s résumé includes a Catholic High School League Tournament title, earned in October with a four-set win over Mercy, according to an MHSAA weekly report. The Mustangs held the No. 1 Division 1 ranking before a loss to Forest Hills Northern at the Beast of the East tournament dropped them to No. 2, according to MLive.
The loss closes the book on Berkley’s 2026 volleyball campaign. Marian advances to the district final.
